New Morning « Thread Started on Jan 15, 2006, 7:31pm »
It was a new day on Destiny Islands...well, for Sora, Riku, Kairi, anyway. They were building their very own raft to take them away from their home and into the unknown. The fresh sea air drifted in through Sora's open window. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh." Sora sighed. He had just woken up from a rather unpleasant dream. Some small, black blob had been chasing him. It had mutlitplied, and then turned into Sora's own shadow! As if that wasn't bad, the imitation turned into an even darker and larger blob...Sora had only just defeated him in the dream...But that's all it was, right? Sora nodded to himself. Couldn't be anything else. Sora didn't want to go down to breakfast. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy it- Well, his mom wasn't the best cook, and she could be a bit of a nag, as well as a delay, about his friends and his boat. As quickly and quietly as he could, Sora swung one leg over the window sill and then the other, hopping out and landing softly on the pleasantly green foliage on the ground.

ooc: Sorry if this is the wrong time, but I figured might as well throw in the annoying duck!
ic: "Wake up! Wake Up!" A rather unpleasant voice squawked! It was none other than Donald Duck, the mage who traveled alongside Sora.
"Your napping and we have work to do!" Once again Donald yelled. The tone of his voice was impinged upon, the the lisp of his beak. White feathers moved across his head from the sea-breeze that caressed the land.
"COME ON!" Donald yelled again, this time dancing across the shore, waving his staff impatiently.
There are some doors Princesses can't open. For everything else, there's the keyblade.

Perhaps because of the distraction caused by that annoying duck, the key-bearer did not notice a strange occurrence only a few paces away...a pair of bright yellow eyes, evil, evidently, appeared...at first they were narrow, cat-like...angry. But then, a boy came into view...a boy--carrying a key blade...the diluted pupils of the malevolent eyes became wider..someone, somewhere was suddenly satisified...

Sora had only just landed on the ground from his jump when he heard a sadly familiarly annoying voice. "Wake up, wake up!" Sora spun around, startled. "Donald, I didn't know you were there!" But Donald didn't seem to care about frightening Sora at all. He folded his arms and turned his head. "Come on!" But Sora was persistent. It wasn't like he bothered Donald while he slept. Here he was, intent on working on Kairi, Riku, and his boat, and this flabbergasting duck came along... "You might give me a second or two to get ready," the boy pouted. "Where's Goofy?" While Donald seem to contemplate the question, Sora saw something briefly out of the corner of his eye. A movement by the little hideout he, Kairi, and Riku had discovered in their youth. Donald had opened his great beak to answer, but Sora hushed him. Now Donald looked beyond angry. I'm sure I saw something... "Hey Donald, let's go check that cavern out..." But even he knew the stubborn duck would never go. Donald wanted to do things his way- only because he was sure his way was the right way. "Never mind," Sora spoke softly, eying the cavern. "I'll go myself."

"Aw, shucks!" Donal complained, watching as Sora strutted away.
"Waaaaait!" Donald ran to cathc up with the persistant boy, but ended up tripping in his persuit.
"Oh, dear," Donald complained and picked himself up rather quickly. Finally, he caught up with the youth. "I thought Goofy would be with you, but I guess not!" Donald accused, swinging his staff rather violently at Sora's side.
"Where exactly are we going?" He asked, taking an even stride with his ever- persistant comrade.
"Someone the exact opposite of Inuyasha. That's the perfect guy for me."
Aw, what do you know, you big palooka?

Donald tapped his foot impatiently from where he had stopped.
"I am coming!" He announced after much deliberation. "But I still think that we should look for Goofy!" Donald added impatiently. The duck swung his staff over his tiny shoulders and waddled along side Sora.
"What exactly are we going to do?" Donald asked with his usual petulant tone.

Sora slowly edged away from Donald's staff, though this was done in his subconcious mind. He was contemplating what that flash had been...He just didn't understand. Things had been getting worse since Donald and Goofy had arrived, but he could tell anyone that it wasn't Goofy's fault...it was more Donald's. "I thought Goofy would be with you, but I guess not," said Donald in his annoyingly cracky voice. "Where exactly are we going?" Sora sighed. "I thought you might be with Goofy, since you two can't separate." Sora shook his head. He shouldn't have gotten up so early. He was more a night person anyway. "I saw something. I'm following. You don't have to come if you don't want to." He waited for Donald's response.

Sora was getting a little annoyed. "I've told you three times, Donald. We're going to follow that light I saw!" But he felt bad about yelling, and Donald looked beyond perturbed. Sora turned and crouched to make himself level to the strange duck. "Hey, listen, I'm sorry. I guess I'm being a bit of a jerk-" Donald looked like he was about to say something in reply to that, but Sora held up a hand to silence him. "I'm just kinda nervous about what I saw. It really was...eerie. I mean, on this island...a thing like that." He held out his hand. "Truce?"

Donald tapped his foot impatiently, but nodded his head. "Aw, shucks! Truce!" Donald reply, placing a feathered hand inside Sora's own gloved one. Donald pulled away after shaking the boys' hand.
"A light? Are you sure you aren't just making that up?" Donald scrutinized, squinting slightly at Sora. Donald was not completely doubting Sora, it could be truth. There were some strange events happening.

Sora sighed. "I'm not, Donald, really." He ducked as he entered into the musty tree passage that he had so long ago found. It had been a long time since he actually had been in it. Now, passing through, he swept up the lingering cobwebs with his large hair. But he proceeded. Something, he was sure, was going on. And it wasn't as ordinary, as ordinary could be, as far as he was concerned.
He wasn't sure if Donald would follow...But even he wouldn't have minded some company on this venture.

Donald ambled in after Sora, reluctantly at first until a familiar light caught his eye. Sora had been right! Donald was intrigued and looked upon Sora, searching for the answer.
Inside the cave was a small light, growing dimmer and dimmer as it traveled farther and farther into the darkness. Darkness meant trouble and Donald didn't care for trouble.
"Awww shucks." Donald commented, for he knew, Sora would follow the phantom light.

What was this light? Sora didn't know, but he was intrigued. Thus, he kept following it, forgetting that Donald was still reliably behind him. The phantom light proceeded through the remainder of the abandoned cavern and through the door at the opposite end- the door Sora had always taken notice of, always wondered about, but could never open...And now it was open. Sora followed the light right through that door...and into another realm.

Darkness...it krept, silently like a wave upon the shore. The wave continues to approach the shore until it crashes with such force, the sand is pulled within its grasp.
Donald and Sora, much like the sand that was once upon the shore, was swept into another realm. Another world. Beyond the borders that they were allowed.
"I don't think we are supposed to be here!" Donald warned, looking at his new surroundings.
