Something for Sakura « Thread Started on Jan 16, 2006, 4:40pm »
ooc: Sorry if this is kinda dum. I had already posted it and it got erased!!!! My work!!!! I was really mad, so this one might not be as good, but I tried to get it along the same lines...
Li knocked on the front door to Sakura's suburban home. He waited for what seemed forever before Sakura's cheery face answered the door. Just seeing her expression caused Li's mood to change from a neutral one to that of stubborness and aggravation. "Teacher wanted me to give this to you." He held out a notebook, filled with the day's notes, which Sakura graciously took. "I told him you were sick," he added grumpily. But both Li and Sakura knew why Sakura hadn't been at school that day...All last night, she had been out chasing the Power Card. Li had wanted to join her, but his parents had quite literally forced him to stay home and do his homework. The exhaustion from chasing the card had left Sakura feeling rather dazed, so she wasn't forced to go to school the following morning. Now, Li was in a foul mood at Sakura's luck...he didn't want to talk to her, so he turned to leave.

"Thanks Li!" Sakura replyed in her unusually chipper tone. Seeing that she had been quite busy the previous night, she was quite happy.
"Don't you want to come in?" She asked, hugging he notebook to her chest. "My brother just made tea" Sakura smiled, "You might want to be careful though, Tori doesn't have the best cooking skills"
Sakura smiled, her eyes dancing with familiar happiness.

Li stopped walking but didn't turn around...Tea sounded good, but he didn't want her to know he thought that. Besides, like she said...her brother's cooking skills...they really were atrocious. "Nah," Li shrugged and continued to walk away, his pride preventing him from what might have been a cheerful afternoon.

Meilin had been listening intently while Sakura chatted with Li...It made her very upset to see the two of them together. And she hated how Sakura knew just what to say when Li was looking awkward. Meilin only wished she had such talent... "I mean," she whispered to herself aloud, apparently annoyed," it's not fair she has magic powers and the ability to steal my husband!" Feeling both teary and insulted, Meilin leapt out from the bushes as soon as Li started to pass. "What were you doing?"

Sakura was taken back but Li's sudden depature and Mei-Lin's sudden appearance from her bushes.
"Li?" She called, waving from the doorway. "Thanks!" Sakura called again. But she could not bring herself to move from the doorway. Had she prperly thanked him?
Throwing on her slippers, Sakura discarded the notebook by the door and walked quickly down her walkway.
"Hello Mei-Lin ," Sakura greeted, standed close to Li.

Li sighed. Somehow, he had known that Meilin was following him. "Just dropping off Sakura's homework. It's nothing personal." But Sakura was already at Li's side. Li hoped Meilin would keep her mouth shut...they were cousins, after all. Trapped between two girls who had inexplainable feelings for him, Li sighed, shook his head, and waited for them to end this silent duel.

Meilin wanted to believe Sakura- she really did! But she couldn't. "Dropped your homework off, huh?" She frowned, putting her hands on her hips. "Funny, Li never drops my homework off for me!" She turned to the neutral Li. "Do you, Li?" She glowered. But she didn't feel like being mean, so in a very -it could be assumed- odd manner, she grabbed Li by the arm and began to drag him away beaming. "What a beautiful day! Let's go for a walk!"

Julian rang the doorbell hesitantly, wearing the same goofy smile and astute look he always did. He was here to see Tori but for some reason a visit with Sakura didn't seem like such a bad idea either. Maybe she would enjoy the conversation as well.
His stomach growled, right hand holding a small bag containing a few bread rolls, he pulled one out and began to munch on it. Hopefully Sakura was home.

ooc: We don't mind but you might want to know that Sakura, Li, and Meilin are currently standing in Sakura's front yard.
ic: "Funny, Li never drops my homework off for me! Do you, Li?" This was Meilin. She was very angry at him...he hated that look she had when she was upset. "That's because I always see you at home, Meilin. It doesn't seem I have to go to your house and you're always at mine, anyway." He looked at Sakura, annoyed that he had ended up in this mess. "And it was only because she was out...I'm not doing anybody any favors." Hoping to find some way to get out of there, Li looked around. At that moment, he saw the boy at Sakura's front door. He was ringing the doorbell. "Sakura, looks like you've got company," he grumbled. At that moment, Meilin grabbed his arm and began tugging in an attempt to make him leave. "What a beautiful day! Let's go for a walk!" Meilin was suddenly beaming. Li sighed, rolled his eyes, grumbled a good bye to Sakura, and let Meilin drag him off--at least it was somewhat of an escape plan. Still, Li would have to hear a lot about this back at home. He groaned.

Sakura turned her attention from Mei-Lin and Li, to the figure of a man at her doorstep. It was Julian, Tori's best friend. Sakura idolized Julian, he was exaclty the kind of person she wanted her brother to be.
Shyly, Sakura waved to Li, excusing herself for the moment. "Hello, Julian." Sakura smiled, "Tori is inside, but you might not want to go in there!" Sakura laughed playfully, "Hes probably watching some woman on tv!"
